Upbeat pop, folksy indie charm and raw alt-rock will take the stage in the Denver area this week at a handful of shows we're itching to see.

Scottish lady KT Tunstall is starting the week at the Bluebird with opening acts Robert Francis and Miggs. NPR has called Francis "a young man with an old soul," and his music certainly brings a mature musician (ie. Ryan Adams, Jeff Tweedy) to mind. Miggs is a little edgier with stronger guitar ballads, but we're loving the idea of the rich combination of the three all together on one stage.

If Colorado's rainstorms have you pining for something a bit more indie, Tuesday brings Seattle-native Shenandoah Davis to the more intimate setting of the Hi-Dive. Her sinewy voice brings recollections of Jeff Mangum's (lead singer of Neutral Milk Hotel) or Joanna Newsom's, except that she prefers the keyboard.

Also in town are John Vanderslice (with Damien Jurado, who had to be mentioned), James Blunt, Fake Problems, and Hugo--who has 99 problems but a b*tch ain't one.
