It's no secret--at least not to the city government of Denver--that a pleasant pedestrian experience is essential to maintaining a vibrant culture in any major metropolis. The city has made it a goal to improve sidewalk infrastructure throughout the city in an effort to "foster a citywide sense of community."

As it stands now, Denver is the 11th-most walkable city in the country, according to the website WalkScore.com, which specializes in determining the relative ease with with which one can move around urban neighborhoods on foot.

The website found LoDo to be the most walkable neighborhood in Denver, and one of the most pedestrian-friendly locales in the country. Gateway-Green Valley has been determined to be the city's least-walkable.
