People are poking fun at the Pentagon over its new animated promo video.
The cartoon the Department of Defense uploaded to its revamped website last week promises to give the “the real scoop” on the U.S. military.
It features a swashbuckling pirate and an ice cream cone-wielding reporter.
Check out the video here:
Many folks on Twitter lightheartedly suggested the Defense Department made the simplistic video so it could be understood by President Donald Trump:
I think the Department of Defense is microdosing pic.twitter.com/julDkQrNOR

Well that was nice of the Department of Defense to produce a video that Trump can understand....

The Department of Defense home page (https://t.co/7VcxYYN1ef) now features a garish and infantile two-minute animated video that explains what DOD does in the most simplistic way possible. It only makes sense if the intended audience is third graders or ... our toddler-in-chief. pic.twitter.com/WAViCB0nl4

You know they made that for Trump.

Oh boy... if I were say an enemy of the US and I wanted to undermine any sense of awe for the Department of Defense, here's the video I'd create about them https://t.co/DzBC4krXkr

Has to be done this way so trump can understand.

The military is about ... ice cream, pirates. Welcome to the new Department of Defense home page. https://t.co/oZY3sc5VFS pic.twitter.com/2en18SRExM
