'Destination Truth': No Mermaids, But Plenty Of Sharks

The investigative team was off to Fiji this week on "Destination Truth" (Tue., 9 p.m. ET on Syfy). They were looking into sightings of a mermaid-like creature. Reports had gotten so regular that local police had even been called in to look into the reports.

But while the team didn't find any hard evidence of the mermaid-like creatures, they did stumble onto something potentially more dangerous while diving in the area. The guys suddenly found themselves surrounded by what they described as "four or five bull sharks ... in a feeding frenzy. Very dangerous. Very big."

Luckily, the team was able to swim away from the area and get out of the water. Bull sharks are known as one of the more aggressive species of shark.

As for the mermaid, the team suspects the reports had more to do with sightings of a 6-foot iguana species that is new to the area.

Seek truth along with the team every Tuesday on "Destination Truth" at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
