Detroit Mayor Dave Bing To Reach Out To City Council

Will Bing Kiss And Make Up With Council?

Detroit -- Mayor Dave Bing is hoping to mend some broken bridges today during a meeting with Detroit City Council members.

Bing hasn't met with the council since he called for a special session in June in an unsuccessful attempt to remove corporation counsel Krystal Crittendon. The mayor abruptly left the session, calling it a "sideshow," when the council did not allow him to read a statement and took comments from the public first.

Bing today is expected to reach out to the council, which has accused him of withholding information on fiscal reforms required by Detroit's consent agreement with the state.
