'Devil's Knot' Trailer Brings The West Memphis Three To The Big Screen With Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon Headlines West Memphis Three Drama 'Devil's Knot'

In the new trailer for "Devil's Knot," Reese Witherspoon is haunting as a distraught mother whose son was one of three young boys allegedly killed by the West Memphis Three in 1993. Based on Mara Leveritt's true-crime book "Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three," the film juxtaposes the controversial murder investigation with the pain of losing a child to an unthinkable crime.

"Devil's Knot" opens May 9, when it will also premiere on iTunes. Colin Firth plays a private investigator who's not convinced the convicted murderers are guilty. "Knot" also co-stars Mireille Enos, Dane DeHaan, Amy Ryan and Stephen Moyer. Directed by celebrated indie fixture Atom Egoyan ("The Sweet Hereafter," "Chloe"), the movie premiered to mixed reception at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
