Devin Gardner Scrambles, Throws Touchdown Pass To Drew Dileo In Michigan Win Over Minnesota (VIDEO)

No Denard, No Problem

No Denard Robinson. No problem.

Even without their electric play-maker who was sidelined with an elbow injury, the Michigan Wolverines were able to put a beatdown on Minnesota. The 35-13 win came largely thanks to some Denard-like highlights from backup quarterback Devin Gardner.

Perhaps no play evoked "Shoelace" more than Gardner's game-tying touchdown heave in the second quarter.

With the Wolverines trailing 7-0 in the second and facing a 3rd and 17 at the Gophers' 45, Gardner took a shotgun snap. Unable to find any open receivers, Minnesota's four-man pass rush forced Gardner out of the pocket to his right. Still looking for an open receiver, Gardner scrambled, retreating back behind the 50-yard line and then ranging to the other side of the field.

That's when he saw Drew Dileo wide open in the back of the end zone. Gardner launched a deep pass and when the Big Ten Network cameras finally showed Dileo the closest Minnesota defender was five yards away.

Dileo easily caught the touchdown pass and Michigan tied the game, 7-7. Gardner would go on to throw another touchdown pass and rush for another as the Wolverines went on to win 35-13.
