Mitt Romney probably wishes no one remembers that incident when he strapped his dog Seamus to the roof of his car.
But an American New Wave band is set to immortalize Romney's now-infamous decision in song.
According to Rolling Stone, Devo -- the band that emphatically told everyone to "Whip It" in 1980 -- is set to release a new song later this month entitled "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro! (Remember Seamus)."

Devo's founder and commercial director, Gerald V. Casale, clearly has a bit of obsession with Romney's Irish setter. He recently kicked off his Remember Seamus campaign and is involved in a smartphone game called "The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed," which is currently in the works. Casale is also a supporter of Dogs Against Romney.
Casale and his bandmates are not the only ones taking a dig at the presidential nominee. According to the Atlantic Wire, President Barack Obama also resurrected Seamus' memory this week when he was in Iowa:
Obama was trying to sell Iowans on windmills and the importance of extending the tax credits for wind energy producers when he totally went there. Mitt Romney doesn't like windmills. He doesn't want tax credits for wind energy producers. So Obama was all, "You can’t drive a car with a windmill on it ... Now, I don’t know if he’s actually tried that. I know he’s had other things on his car."
In 1983, Romney had driven for twelve hours with Seamus in a crate on the roof of the car during a vacation voyage with his family.
Sure, it's been almost 30 years but -- sorry, Mitt -- it seems that no one's going to forget about it anytime soon.
