I've met a lot of people in my life that are on the spiritual path of evolution.

But the problem is, they went to Costco to get spiritually grounded.

You know when you go to Costco and there's that cute, little lady with the fish net stocking over her head? And she's giving out little tidbits of things you really shouldn't be eating - dumplings, chicken strips, whatever it might be. You get the taste of that salt in your mouth and you get hooked on it.

Costco's smart. They hook you with a little bit of salt-infused food and they know you're going to go and buy that product that they bought so cheaply.

What they're dishing out is cheap goods - the stuff that they have the largest inventory of and the biggest markup on. And they have somebody there to sample it out so that they make the most amount of money. It's an absolutely brilliant way to work and a brilliant business tactic. But the problem is, when it comes down to their spiritual revolution, so many people get it for free like they do at Costco.

It's like they take the cheapest home study course. They know the theories and the principals, but they don't apply it to anything. They continue to remain victims in their lives. They're constantly blaming, but at the same time, they're constantly quoting things about these laws of attraction.

The spiritual evidence behind abundance.

The power of manifestation.

Oh, they can talk the talk. Just like they're reading the ingredients off that salt-infused food at Costco.

But really, they're not living that evolved life. Because if you want to go on that spiritual path, you can't go and bargain basement shop at Costco.

The most evolved people that I know have spent money becoming evolved. They've actually got out, lived the lesson, went and talked to healers, gone to therapy, bought courses, read tons of books, and not only that, they went and applied that knowledge to everyday life.

There's a spiritual church here in Los Angeles. It's a wonderful place to go to get your dose of spirituality. I've been there many times and the lessons are beautiful. Problem is, most of the people keep coming back over and over again because that's their daily dose or weekly dose of spirituality. They feel like if they can be spiritual in that moment, that they might actually heal themselves.

But there are no miracles here. Jesus will not appear in a grilled cheese sandwich.

You're not going to become spiritually evolved because you go to a few sessions.

The only way you're going to be spirituality evolved is if you start to take full responsibility for everything in your life. If you're somebody that blames somebody for anything, if you use the words, "That person abandoned or disappointed me," or if you use terms like, "I can't seem to cut it or get a break," then you haven't really been on the path to spiritual evolution. Because spiritual evolution is all about you.

You can't just go and get the cheap version of the home study course that leaves you feeling like you need more.

My course in spiritual evolution started a long time ago when I first read the book The Celestine Prophecy.

I've been on that spiritual evolution path ever since.

I once did a seminar and while I was talking about spiritual evolution, a guy looked at me and said, "David, I've been on this spiritual course the last year and a half. How much longer do I need to go and do these seminars and read these books and all of this other stuff?"

I looked at him and said, "What, you're about 35?" He said yes.

I said "How long do you want to live for?"

"I don't know, I'd like to live until I'm 80."

"Well, then you have another 45 years left to go."

Some days will be easier than others; some days will be more of a challenge.

But, if you're taking personal inventory every single day and you're not blaming anybody else for exactly where you are in your life at that moment, then you really are on the course to spiritual evolution.

You're taking full responsibility for your life and you're becoming more spiritually evolved. If you're blaming others, well then you've got your spiritual advice from the little lady in the fishnet stockings at Costco. You got your little spiritual bump where you didn't go and take it inside and become that evolved person you so desperately want to be.
