Dirk Dzimirsky's Unbelievably Photorealistic Drawings: Can You Spot The Improvisations? (PHOTOS)

Not A Photograph...

Ever since our readers went bananas over the hyperrealistic works of Paul Cadden, we've been on the hunt to find other talented artists with an ability to create precise likenesses with nothing but a pencil, paper and lots and lots of time. Well photorealism junkies, you'll be happy to know we've struck gold with Dirk Dzimirsky, a German artist who can render reality like you've never seen before...except in reality.

Although the works appear to be exact replicas of photographic images, Dzimirsky's aim is "representational and lyrical," according to his artist statement, which explains his particular language as "marks like words and textured areas like paragraphs." According to his website, Dzimirsky starts his drawing process with a photograph, but once he gets the proportions down he relies heavily on improvisation and imagination.

Click through more of Dzimirsky's work below, and tell us what you think. Are you able to read between the lines to the impromptu moments beneath? Or does this strike you as photorealism, pure and simple?
