'Dirty Jobs': Mike Rowe Has Fun Driving A Trash Compactor, Cracking Up The Operator (VIDEO)

Mike Rowe Has Fun With Trash Compactor On 'Dirty Jobs'

Mike Rowe still knows how to have fun on "Dirty Jobs" (Tue., 9 p.m. EST on Discovery). It's a good attitude to have when dealing with some of the jobs he sees on a daily basis. These are important jobs, but many of them are uncomfortable or brutal for the people who do them day in and day out. So finding ways to make them fun is key.

He certainly enjoyed the opportunity to drive a massive trash compactor around a garbage dump. It was at a facility that spreads out and crushes the garbage with one machine, followed up by another that piles dirt on top of the garbage. In a perfect world, the final result is that the garbage is as small as it could be made, and covered completely with dirt, as if it was never there.

Tooling around on the compactor, Rowe was cracking jokes about what he was running over, and having fun with the power of the machine to both lift and shift garbage, and then crush it down with its massive wheels. Some jobs are dirtier than others, and this one was more about hauling and moving garbage and dirt than it was about getting Rowe coated in something disgusting. But everyone needs a "break" every once in a while.

Mike Rowe finds more "Dirty Jobs" every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on Discovery.
