Disney Movies Map: Reddit User Curates Films' Geography

A Different Kind Of Disney 'World'

You can locate every single ride in Walt Disney World... but can you pin the location of every single movie created by the wonderful world of Disney?

If the answer is no, do not fret -- one Reddit user has taken on the role of silver-screen cartographer and created a map that will give you all the answers.

The map below was created by Redditor translucentfish who posted the map of animated films on Reddit Saturday:

In a comment, translucentfish said the greatest challenge was placing two films: The Little Mermaid and Atlantis.

For The Little Mermaid, I couldn't find any definitive proof as to where it takes place. It came down to Denmark or the Caribbean. Basically 50/50, there were signs pointing to both and also negatives. I chose the location I felt best represented the film as I've seen it. I don't doubt that many think it's wrong. But, I bet had I put it in Denmark there'd be issues with that as well.

For Atlantis, well, that's a pretty obvious case of no one knows where Atlantis is located. The movie (to my knowledge) never explicitly states where it is, so I went with the prevailing theory behind it's disappearance. Honestly though, I could have put it anywhere on the map and it would have been "wrong."

According to the map, Disney has produced films set on six of the seven continents, with Antarctica being the final frontier. We think the Imagineers can come up with some adorable talking arctic creatures next... don't you?

While the map depicts the approximate locations of these films, the exact, real-world locations of many of them are unclear. While some films feature actual monuments you can see for yourself, others are set in vague locations that have hints of reality.
