Disney Princesses As Hot Dogs Are Frankly Adorable

Beauty and the beef.

In the tangled Interwebs we so rapidly weave, few online trends have a shelf life as long as Disney princesses reimagined.

To comment on the playful, yet somewhat excessive, recreations of these animated lady royals, crafters Anna Hezel and Gabriella Paiella have gifted the Internet its best reimagination yet -- Disney princesses as hot dogs.

Anna Hezel

“We put our heads together and thought about what kinds of Disney princesses would inspire us the most,” they wrote on Lucky Peach, where photos and instructions for the delightful creations were published. “And obviously we thought of hot dogs. Disney has never created a princess who was a hot dog (dumb, in our opinion).”

Agreed! After seeing endless posts on the subject, including Disney princesses without makeup, with “realistic faces,” as older women and as actual human grandmothers, these hot dogs renditions of Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle and Pocahontas (Poca-hot-dog?) are, frankly, refreshing. Now, we’re not dismissing or discrediting all Disney reimaginations -- some can certainly be used for powerful social commentary.

But in a space where these recreations run so rampant, and in such high quantity, it can be hard to ketchup with all the different concepts. This one, however, is simple and easy to digest. Hopefully.
