DIY Nail Art: Yayoi Kusama For Louis Vuitton-Inspired Manicure (PHOTO)

A Louis Vuitton Manicure For A Fraction Of The Cost

New York City has exploded with polka dots thanks to Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Louis Vuitton has decked out its Fifth Avenue flagship store in celebration of their collaboration, and a retrospective of Kusama's signature spots is now open at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Plus, she's getting some west coast love from two DIY nail artists.

Donne and Virginia Geer, the sister duo behind Hey, Nice Nails!, was struck by the polka-dotted 83-year-old genius. Taking a cue from a painter's book, Donne recommends carefully pouring red, black and white lacquers onto a piece of aluminum foil and drawing on circles using dotting tools (toothpicks and bobby pins work, too). Grab a friend and follow the steps below to recreate this playful manicure.
