This DIY Vegetable Garden Deserves Major Props (PHOTOS)

But this gardener really doesn't seem to mind... or care.

Whoever said an awesome garden can only be grown in a backyard has never met Reddit user locolukas. This green-thumbed genius completely transformed an Oakland, California front yard into a vegetable garden oasis filled with basil, carrots, beets and radishes.

Our first thought (naturally) was how amazing this DIY project is. Then we remembered how in certain locations or in communities with strict homeowner's associations, someone would probably put the kibosh on an idea like this. However, locolukas doesn't seem to be too concerned, and neither would we be, especially after seeing the veggie-less and, quite frankly, sad yards of his next door neighbors. Plus, locolukas is giving back to the community by offering free produce. "All sorts of people take what I offer up. I've seen people drive up and get out of [their] car just to check what's in the box. It is amazing how many zucchinis my neighbors will eat," the user wrote.

Well, we say more power to you, locolukas. Scroll through to see photos of the garden, and be sure to head over to Reddit for more information.

Container gardens also work if you don't have a lot of space!
