'Do No Harm' Premiere: Jason's Alter Ego Comes Out To Play In This Modern-Day Jekyll And Hyde (VIDEO)

'Do No Harm' Premiere: Modern-Day Jekyll And Hyde

NBC premiered "Do No Harm," the latest television take on the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In this case it's the strange case of Dr. Jason Cole and his alter ego, Ian Price. Steven Pasquale takes on the dual role of a renowned neurosurgeon by day and a crazed psychopath by night.

When the series picks up, Jason had managed to keep Ian subdued by knocking himself out for twelve hours every night. His alter ego normally takes over between 8:25 p.m. and 8:25 a.m. The problem is that Ian has built up an immunity to the serum, and so he started to break free.

Ian and Jason have no idea what the other gets up to during their time at the helm. Ian, though, has five years of resentment and anger built up toward Jason. His first move was to terrify the female doctor that Jason is interested in. He's been afraid to date because he'd been knocking himself out every night at 8:25 p.m. Now, he's just not himself after that time.

In this premiere, Ian had a drunken orgy his first night out. He terrorized Jason's colleague his second night out and tried to perform surgery his third night out -- after Jason set him up to beat the crap out of an abusive cop. Precautions Jason had put in place subdued Ian before he did the surgery, but Jason needs to find a permanent solution.

He tried leaving a tape for Ian proposing a truce. If Ian stays out of his life, he won't try to shut him down. In reality, he wants to kill his alter ego, though we'd imagine the feeling is mutual.

The back-and-forth drama of "Do No Harm" continues on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
