Going by the rate at which the customer base of Utah-based home security upstart Vivint home security is growing, which has reportedly reached more 700,000, a new trend and segment of real estate business is opening up in the US. But what is it which makes the Home Automation and Energy Management, which once remained as a dreary home alarms systems market, explode in to big business?

According to Memoori, an independent market research and investment consultancy, Home Automation and Energy, after remaining stagnant for decades, have moved forward and the interfacing of these services within the wider Home Area Network looks set to become the major synergistic force as it lowers costs and improves operational efficiencies. The US home automation market is now up for grabs and the Winners will be the ones that can offer the seamless end to end experience across all services in the home.

Though big names like GE, Honeywell, ADT, AT&T and Verizon have entered the fray, perhaps the Utah firm Vivint is the only supplier who has espoused the above success formula of providing Home Automation, Energy Management, Home Security and Solar Energy under one roof.

Vivint appears to have grabbed the position of a market leader by offering advanced technology and practically everything you need to secure your home and make your home comfortable under one roof.

In fact the array of services provided by this company sounds like a Glossary of the Home Automation and Energy business, with names which are all not quite familiar to an average home buyer, but self explanatory.

TOUCHSCREEN PANEL,REMOTE INTERNET AND SMART PHONE ACCESS,WINDOW SENSORS, DOOR SENSORS,KEY FOB,GLASS BREAK DETECTOR,MOTION DETECTOR,SMOKE ALARM,CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM, SMART THERMOSTAT,ENERGY-EFFICIENT BULBS,LIGHTING CONTROLS,SMALL APPLIANCE CONTROLS,VIDEO SURVEILLANCE,AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS,NON-EMERGENCY ALERTS, MEDICAL PENDANT

However the flagship product which has got Vivint the nation's attention is their Zero Home which generates more energy than it uses.

What makes these exciting services companies like Vivint offer become suddenly in demand and a growing business opportunity?

Undoubtedly the recent upturn in housing demand is playing a big role in the surge in home based services. According to a report put out by Foxnews, U.S. home prices jumped 12.2 percent in May compared with a year ago, the biggest annual gain since March 2006. The increase shows the housing recovery is strengthening. Steady price increases, along with stable job gains and historically low mortgage rates, have in turn encouraged more Americans to buy homes.

Perhaps more important is the advance in wireless networking technology and applications using the internet which makes many of the new services possible and accessible from anywhere away from home.

Another factor is the popularity of products for home technology. More and home owners are encouraged to put out and exhibit their exotic gadgets to a prospective home buyer to enhance the value of the property.

But most important of all perhaps is the proliferation of smartphones, which double as hand-held devices with which you can control, communicate and operate many of these exotic devices and their exiting features which make life more exciting for today's young generation.

Whatever it is, Home Automation and Energy market is taking off and it is time to get in.
