Folk musician Arthel "Doc" Watson, 89, died on Tuesday due to complications from a fall in his home.

After losing his sight at a young age, Watson began playing the guitar. At age 43, the North Carolina native became famous for his flatpicking guitar playing style, gaining him recognition from audiences and influencing guitarists everywhere.
