Former 'Doctor Who' Stars 'Protest' BBC ... Or Do They?

Former stars of "Doctor Who" were spotted protesting at BBC headquarters. According to several reports, Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor), Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor) and Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor) were seen outside BBC's London base of operations holding up banners that indicated they were protesting the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special.

The signs read: “No Classics? No 50th!” and “Have a heart, Classic Doctors want a part!”

So was it a real protest? Many are speculating the actors were on-hand for a publicity stunt (if that's the case, congratulations on the success!), a possible DVD extra or something for a fan convention, according to io9.

Request for comment from BBC America was not immediately returned.

The "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special airs Saturday, November 23 on BBC America.
