Honor The Dog Slammed, Punched In GRAPHIC VIDEO

Two Missouri teens were charged with animal abuse after video surfaced of a graphic attack on a dog named Honor.

The Facebook video -- posted last Tuesday and obtained by Fox 2 -- shows a St. Louis juvenile picking up a 6-month-old female Boxer pit bull mix and slamming her repeatedly on the ground before punching her. Another teen can be heard laughing as he filmed the incident.

"Yeah, I'm shocked about what happened because...I didn't think my son could do something like that, no way," the mother of the one of the teens told Fox 2 while on her way to see her son at a juvenile facility.

The St. Louis County Police Department seized the dog, and she's now in the care of animal control.

"[The department] takes these incidents very seriously and we have a zero tolerance approach towards the inhumane treatment of animals," the county police said on their Facebook page.

The St. Louis County Animal Control said the pup was cleared by a veterinarian and suffered no broken bones or lasting injuries. Animal control named the dog Honor, and said she is doing well.

"Honor is enjoying all of the support, outpouring of love and well wishes," animal control said on their Facebook page.

A pit bull advocacy group and rescue, Even Chance, is now fostering Honor until she can be adopted.
