Hiker's Dog Saves Homeless Man Trapped For Days On California Mountain (VIDEO)

WATCH: Dog Rescues Homeless Man

A homeless California man owes his life to a dog named Mole.

According to NBC, Ramon Llamas' and his dog were walking by the rocks on Mount Rubidoux in Riverside, California, on Monday morning, when Mole, a mixed German Shepherd, suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"He kept on tugging at my pant and whining, pulling me," Llamas told Fox. When Llamas followed Mole to investigate, he was surprised at what he found.

Forty-four-year-old Paul had his foot pinned beneath rocks and was severely dehydrated. Llamas and some other fellow hikers were able to provide Paul with some water and contact rescue workers. They freed the man about an hour later.

The man could've been trapped inside the hole for as long as 8 days.

Miraculously, Paul did not appear to have suffered any injuries but was in desperate need of hydration. He told NBC that he thought he was trapped for 4 to 6 days, but officials say bouts of unconsciousness may bring the total to 8.
