The DoGooder Awards: A Contest That Celebrates Videos For A Cause (VIDEOS)

WATCH: The Best Cause-Related Videos From 2013

Calling all visionaries!

It's time for the 2014 DoGooder Awards, a contest celebrating cause advocates who tell their stories with video.

In its eighth edition this year, the awards are open to nonprofits and individuals in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK with a passion for a cause and a video that promotes it. This year, the program is excited to open up participation to include younger do-gooders ages 12 to 21 who best communicated their thoughts on pressing social issues in a way that inspired others.

"We are really excited to launch another year of the DoGooder Awards," said Michael Hoffman, CEO of See3. "When we started the awards eight years ago, no one knew why they needed to focus on video. Now, the majority of all bandwidth is video and video messaging has become more important than ever for nonprofit organizations around the world."

Interested parties should submit entries before February 15 in the following categories:

  • ImpactX Award, which honors videos that have demonstrated an impact for their causes
  • Most Inspiring Youth Media Award
  • Funny For Good Award
  • Best Nonprofit Video Award

Members of the YouTube community will have the opportunity to vote for the best among the finalists from February 28th through March 10th.

The awards are presented by See3 Communications, YouTube and the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN) with sponsorship from NTEN and Cisco.

In its 8 year history, the DoGooder Video Awards have awarded thousands of dollars in grants and prizes to support the work of organizations doing good. Last year, over 800 entries were submitted from more than 300 nonprofit organizations, with winning videos from Rainforest Alliance, Pathfinder International and more.
