Dogs On Runway Delay Airplane Landing

Two dogs loose on a runway at Juneau International Airport caused an Alaska Airlines jet to delay its landing.

The plane, attempting to land in Alaska's capital city, had to scrap its first attempt and circle the airport before it could land, reports the Associated Press.

An animal control officer reportedly caught one of the dogs, while another matching the description was found in the area.

The owner of the caught dog will be cited.

This is certainly not the first time animals have interfered with air traffic. In June, turtles on the tarmac at New York's JFK airport caused flight delays. And, mice were the reason a Nepal-bound flight was sent back to Bangkok last week, and a Chicago-bound SAS flight was grounded moments before takeoff in Stockholm.
