Dominican Republic Prepares To Restart Deportations

At midnight on Wednesday, the deadline ran out for the estimated 500,000 undocumented immigrants in Dominican Republic to register with the government. Unknown thousands woke up on Thursday facing the threat of deportation. The vast majority of them are from Haiti and virtually all of them are black, leading many to view racism as a driving force behind the expulsions. HuffPost spoke with applicants ahead of the midnight deadline on June 17.
