Dominique Ansel became a global sensation when he made the cronut at his Dominique Ansel Bakery. But now the famed pastry chef wants to go back to his roots and serve dishes with a little more complexity.

This summer he is embarking on UP (which stands for Unlimited Possibilities), an 8 seat dessert tasting menu that sits above his new Dominique Ansel Kitchen. On weekend nights the shop's kitchen will turn into an intimate dining room where Ansel will showcase his creations.

The dishes are inspired by a series of 'firsts', so we wanted to delve into the very first dish he will be serving, simply titled 'First Word'. Watch the video above to learn all about this sweet creation and to understand the meaning behind the dish.
