Don Johnson Thinks All Drugs Should Be Legalized, Including Heroin

Don Johnson Thinks Heroin Should 'Absolutely' Be Legalized

"Miami Vice" actor Don Johnson thinks all drugs should be legal, without exception.

The 65-year-old told HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri that he feels America should "legalize every drug and tax it." When Camilleri inquired as to whether this stance extended to heroin, Johnson didn't hesitate before saying "absolutely."

"If you legalize and decriminalize drugs, you take the glamor out of it and you take the gangs out of it, you take the drug dealers out of it and you make it a less glamorous thing," he explained.

"The perfect example would be prohibition," he added. "Yeah, there's going to be those who are alcoholics, but you know, they'll get help. That's evidence of a deeper wound -- a deeper pain that people need help with."

Catch Don Johnson's new film, "Cold In July," in theaters now.
