Bill Maher Says Donald Trump's Lies Inflame Supporters' Anger

"He lies like no one is fact-checking."

Donald Trump's lies are largely to blame for his supporters' anger and the increasingly ugly scenes at his campaign rallies, according to Bill Maher.

The "Real Time with Bill Maher" host called out the GOP front-runner on Friday for his repeated falsehoods, just after a Trump rally at the University of Illinois was canceled amid security fears.

"There is a lot of anger there, but can we just get to what he says? Because a lot of the reason why people are angry is because he lies, horribly, like they all do at the debates," Maher said. "Nobody checks them on it. There's that old saying, 'Dance like no one's watching.' He lies like no one is fact-checking. And no one does."

Maher detailed just some of the untruths Trump told during Thursday night's debate -- about GDP, employment levels and military spending.

HuffPost Senior Politics Editor Sam Stein agreed, revealing it was "almost impossible" to call Trump out on a single lie because he spouts 20 per minute. "You end up trying to grab over here -- and that's not even getting to Trump Steaks, which are atrocious, and he says that they're good."

Editor's note: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims -- 1.6 billion members of an entire religion -- from entering the U.S.
