CLEVELAND ― The Republican National Committee on Thursday released a partial list of speakers at this year’s GOP convention after more than a week of promises by the party’s presumptive standard bearer, real estate mogul Donald Trump.

The list includes potential Trump running mates New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and retired Gen. Michael Flynn ― but Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who met with Trump on Wednesday, was notably absent. Trump will announce his vice presidential pick on Friday morning in Manhattan.

The list also includes just seven House Republicans and six Senate Republicans, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), Trump’s former rival for the presidency, who has not yet said whether he will endorse the presumptive nominee.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims ― 1.6 billion members of an entire religion ― from entering the U.S.
