Donald Trump Reveals His Fitness Routine, Diet Secrets To Dr. Oz

The GOP nominee said he gets his exercise by waving his hands around while talking.

Donald Trump gets his exercise on the campaign trail by waving his hands around as he talks, the Republican presidential nominee told Dr. Mehmet Oz on Wednesday, according to people who attended the taping of Oz’s eponymous TV show.

Trump also discussed how much he likes fast food, because, he said, “at least you know what they’re putting in it.”

Trump went on the show to discuss the results of a recent physical performed by his longtime physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein. Oz read the results of the physical out loud, noting that Trump is “overweight.” There are conflicting reports on what Trump said he weighed, with some viewers saying it was 236 pounds and others that it was 267 pounds. The Centers for Disease Control considers a BMI of 30 or above to be “obese,” and a BMI between 25 and 29.9 “overweight.”

The lower weight would give Trump a BMI of 29.5, while the higher weight would make his BMI 33.4.

Oz also revealed that Trump, 70, currently takes prescription statins to manage his cholesterol and that his testosterone levels are above average. Trump also said he gets annual cancer screenings and hasn’t been to a hospital since he was 11 years old.

At one point, Oz noted how affectionate Trump is toward his daughter Ivanka, who also appeared on the show. Trump said he kisses his daughter “as often as I can,” according to audience members.

The episode of “Dr. Oz” is slated to air Thursday on Fox affiliates nationwide.

Trump’s health has come into the spotlight following the revelation that his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, is suffering from pneumonia. The news of Clinton’s diagnosis wasn’t made public until after she nearly fainted at a Sept. 11 anniversary event in New York on Sunday.

Until now, the only information available on Trump’s health was a bizarre letter Bornstein wrote late last year. In it, Bornstein declared that Trump’s health was “astonishingly excellent,” adding that if the businessman became president, he would be the “healthiest individual ever elected.” Bornstein later said the letter only took him five minutes to write.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
