Former President Donald Trump resorted to violent rhetoric once more as he wrote online Friday that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has a “DEATH WISH” for supporting “Democrat sponsored Bills.”

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump also referred to McConnell’s Taiwan-born spouse, Elaine Chao, as his “China loving wife, Coco Chow!”

Chao served as Trump’s secretary of transportation but resigned in protest following the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol last year, which the then-president helped spur on by falsely claiming that he won the 2020 election.

Trump did not directly note which legislation he was furious at McConnell for voting to approve, but the GOP leader this week supported a spending bill to avert a federal government shutdown and provide $12 billion in military and economic aid for Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.

McConnell also said Tuesday that he’ll back bipartisan legislation against election subversion.

Mcconnell has not commented on Trump’s post.

Tensions have risen between the two Republicans after McConnell acknowledged President Joe Biden’s election victory in late 2020 and rebuked Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6 insurrection. In August, Trump said McConnell should be “immediately” replaced as GOP Senate leader.
