WASHINGTON ― Donald Trump is already settling in to his new role as the next leader of the free world.

After his surprise Election Day victory, he updated his Twitter bio.

“President-elect of the United States,” it now says.

Twitter has proved to be a hugely important platform for the president-elect, whose @realDonaldTrump account boasts 13.6 million followers. He has often used it to sling insults, calling people “dopey” and “lightweight,” though his campaign staff reportedly prevented him from tweeting in the final weeks leading up to the election.

Trump had vowed to continue tweeting if elected president.

“I’ll do modified tweets. They may not be as aggressive,” he told The Wall Street Journal earlier this year.

And the White House has previously said the next president gets to inherit the @POTUS account, which has only 11.4 million followers.

On Wednesday morning, Trump tweeted his joy.
