This is what you call sticking a landing.
Simone Biles was not happy with the judgesโ feedback on Monday nightโs โDancing with the Stars,โ and her face couldnโt hide her frustration.
Following her Paso Doble performance, judge Carrie Ann Inaba said she saw improvement, but added that the Olympic gold medalist should be careful not to dance โlike a metronome.โ Host Tom Bergeron jumped in, asking, โI was waiting for you to smile at some of the compliments, you didnโt.โ
(Oh, dude. No.)
Bilesโ response: โSmiling doesnโt win you gold medals.โ

The comment shut down the host, earning โoohsโ from the audience and a ton of support online.
Bergeron knew he made a mistake, later calling his question โclumsyโ and tweeting that he โunwittingly added to the smile pile.โ
Biles opened up about her feelings on the judgesโ feedback and Bergeronโs smile comment backstage to Entertainment Tonight.
The Olympian said she had tears in her eyes but pulled it together, adding, โI am trying and I am being honest. But if they donโt see that, I donโt know what else more I can do.โ
After making it through the week, Biles will be back for the โDWTSโ semifinals. Weโre guessing Bergeronโs โclumsyโ questions will not.
โDancing with the Starsโ airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
