After weeks of anticipation on "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," this week saw James Van Der Beek's debut on the "Dancing With the Stars." Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned when June's mom slipped a little something in his tea.
Everything was going great for James during rehearsal. Dean Cain, his main rival, had been partnered with Karina Smirnoff, and even she thought they might have to settle for second after seeing James perform. But when he found out Chloe was subletting his apartment in New York while he was in Los Angeles, he started to freak out.
June's mom, who'd flown out to support him, gave him some tea to help him out, but instead drugged him. The version of the dance that went out on live television was an unmitigated disaster, so bad that producers had to throw up a "Technical Difficulties" screen.
James came back at the end of the episode with a special presentation of the full dance he'd learned for the sequence. He'd worked too hard on it to be satisfied with the 20-second edit in the episode.
Is James' career over, as June told him -- she was trying to be honest -- or can he crawl back? It'll sure be fun to find out as "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" continues on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
