Double 'Catfish' Reveals Shallow Hypocrisy

It was a double "catfish" on the latest episode of "Catfish: The TV Show." Ashley brought in Nev Schulman and Max Joseph to help her track down her online love of seven years, Mike. But she admitted that she'd been catfishing him the whole time, sending him Photoshop-enhanced pictures of herself. But it turned out, Mike was catfishing her right back, and he took it one step further. He used someone else's pictures entirely.

Still, Mike agreed to meet Ashley and come clean. He said he'd realized he didn't care what she looked like. He was in love with her and wanted to start a life with her. Unfortunately, his feelings were not exactly reciprocated.

After seeing the real Mike for the first time, Ashley -- who'd also deceived him about her appearance -- said, “I’m just disappointed that all these years, I thought that when I saw him I was going to freak out and be like, ‘Oh my God!’ You know, just have this awesome connection that we did via text and phone and all that.”

She said she didn't want to seem shallow, but she just wasn't attracted to him. At least she admitted that she probably sounded like a hypocrite, because she absolutely did. Mike was heartbroken, but said he understood. And yet, this twisted tale was not yet done!

When Max and Nev checked back in on the no-longer-a-couple, they discovered that Ashley and Mike were still talking to one another. Mike was even paying to fly her out to meet his family. So did she get over her shallow hypocrisy?

After this wild one, MTV Remote Control's Kristina Lucarelli was left wondering if Nev and Max should start charging for their services. Tune in for more secrets and lies every week on "Catfish: The TV Show," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
