Dove Cameron Talks Working With Ashley Tisdale, Playing Twin Characters And Post-Disney Dreams (VIDEO)

The Role This Disney Star Was 'Terrified' To Take (VIDEO)

Dove Cameron's got a hit show on the Disney Channel, an adorable breakfast-making boyfriend and just wrapped up a movie with "High School Musical" favorite Ashley Tisdale. So it seems only appropriate that the upcoming "Cloud 9" star is well, on Cloud 9.

The "Liv and Maddie" actress stopped by HuffPost Live the day before her 18th birthday where she chatted about playing two roles on the small screen, shared details about her relationship with her fellow Mouseketeer boyfriend and what it was like working with Ashley Tisdale on "Cloud 9."

"She's an absolute doll. She was a great boss," said Cameron of Tisdale, who helped produce the Disney Channel Original snowboarding movie, which premieres Jan. 17. "She was kind of the soundtracks to our childhoods, so it was really cool to work with her."

Speaking of working, you probably know Dove best for playing twins Liv and Maddie on The Disney Channel -- which is a more difficult gig than it may seem.

"It's very interesting because as an actor, you play a litany of different roles, but to play both of them within the same day multiple times, in quick successions, it's different and sort of a really rare opportunity that I was initially terrified by and a little bit daunted by," explained Dove. "But it's been probably the best thing to happen to me in my career. 'Liv and Maddie' is very near and dear to my heart. I'm very proud of it."

Though juggling both characters of Liv and Maddie might seem tricky, balancing work, fame and her relationship with boyfriend (and co-star) Ryan McCartan is not.

"He's [McCartan] definitely one of the best thing in my life. He makes a mean omelette -- some mean French toast," said Cameron. "He's such a grounded and wonderful and kind human being. I attribute a lot of my ability to hide and stay grounded to him."

Breakfast foods aside, looking into the future, the actress also talked about her dreams that go beyond her Disney days.

In addition to dabbling in music, Cameron also expressed interest in being on stage. "Broadway was always sort of my trajectory before I found film and television -- that would be really tremendous."
