'Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog' Will Make TV Debut On The CW Oct. 9

'Dr. Horrible' Gets A TV Debut Date

"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" is officially making its TV debut. The acclaimed online musical from Joss Whedon, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, will air on The CW on Tuesday, October 9 at 9 p.m. ET.

Whedon, his two brothers and his wife created the 2008 three-part musical tragicomedy miniseries for the web during the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. "Dr. Horrible" tells the story of aspiring supervillain Dr. Horrible (Harris), his nemesis Captain Hammer (Fillion) and the woman they both love Penny (Day). The little miniseries that could was a huge hit with members of the Whedonverse and critics.

Earlier this month, during Comic-Con 2012, Whedon revealed that "Dr. Horrible Sing-Along Blog" would be airing on TV for the first time and that its upcoming sequel is coming together as well. Whedon couldn't say much about "Dr. Horrible 2," but he did tease some details:

"We're going to do three prequels, but they're going to suck," Whedon joked. "We've been working on it for about two years. We have a bunch of songs, we know exactly where we're going. I can't wait to tell you more about it ... That's gonna start happening hopefully soon ... some of the actors in it are kind of successful!"

Tune in to see "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" on TV for the first time on Tuesday, October 9 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
