Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Sex Therapist, Talks Love And Technology In MAKERS Documentary (VIDEO)

Dr. Ruth Westheimer has one simple tip for people dating in the digital age: Talk.

"I'm very worried when I see a couple holding hands and each one texts to somebody else," Westheimer says. "Because they are going to lose the ability of conversation, the ability to connect with each other and the ability to really have a relationship."

Westheimer, better known as Dr. Ruth, first became nationally recognized in 1980 when she began hosting a radio show called "Sexually Speaking." During the 15 minute (and then hour-long) segment, she would answer sex-related questions from callers with trademark frankness and humor. At 84, she still speaks as honestly and openly about sexuality as ever, even chiming in on Twitter about Olympian Ryan Lochte's one-night stands.

Westheimer's above interview is part of the documentary "MAKERS: Women Who Make America," a joint project between AOL and PBS which chronicles how women have shaped America over the past 50 years. The documentary aired on PBS on Tuesday, Feb. 26th and can be viewed in its entirety on Makers.com.
