The second season of "Check It Out! With Dr. Steve Brule," premiered last night on Adult Swim, and if that alone doesn't bring you joy, the show released a teaser from the season premiere wherein Dr. Brule visits a marina (pronounced MARE-in-uh) and eats some crab from the garbage.
John C. Reilly may be the only actor alive who can get away with starring in critically acclaimed films during Oscar season ("Carnage," "We Need to Talk About Kevin") while concurrently starring in two Tim & Eric joints. In addition to playing the title role on "Check It Out!" (which he originated on "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!"), Reilly also plays Taquito, a sweet yet deranged homeless man living in an abandoned mall, in "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie."
While Dr. Brule started off as a slightly loopy morning show correspondent on "Awesome Show," Reilly has really fleshed out the character on "Check It Out!" to be the portrait of instability that we see now. The full 12-minute season premiere can be viewed in full, but only for Adult Swim Gold members, which requires login info for your cable provider if it carries Adult Swim. So no swindling Cartoon Network, tricksters.
