If Driver's Ed Was Taught Like Sex Ed, It'd Be Just As Awkward

If Driver's Ed Was Taught Like Sex Ed, It'd Be Just As Awkward

It starts out with your scary gym teacher warning you not to "do it." Next, your mom asks you a bunch of awkward questions and your dad tries to give you some fatherly advice. But let's be honest: You'll probably learn most of what you know from just plain Googling it.

Nope, this isn't sex ed -- it's driver's ed, as re-imagined in BuzzFeed's latest video, "If Driving Was Taught Like Sex Ed."

The hilarious video mimics all the annoying, embarrassing parts of sex ed, from the poorly informed gym teacher to the weird diagrams to the awful clichés, like "don't forget that if you drive with somebody, it's like driving with everybody they've ever driven with."

The video also mocks the squirm-worthy ways parents deal with their teen's sex ed. At one point, a concerned mother says, "You know, God wants you to wait to drive... " And then there's that time your mom found out your school's been handing out... seat belts to encourage "safe driving."

The misguided way schools teach teens about sex looks even more ridiculous when you replace "sex" with "driving." It just goes to show that a sex ed curriculum based on fear doesn't keep teens safer.

Is sex ed at your school this bad? Tell us about it in the comments.
