Duke Porn Star On Piers Morgan Interview: Women Can't Win 'In This Patriarchal Society' (VIDEO)

Duke Porn Star Critiques CNN Host

Piers Morgan doesn't understand why Belle Knox did not expect her school, Duke University, to go into an uproar over her after school job doing porn.

Initially, Knox attempted to shield her identity by giving a limited number of interviews under a pseudonym. But she continued to receive harassment online and in person by people who already knew her real identity, so Knox made the decision earlier this month to show her face and reveal her stage name.

A few days after her coming out, Knox appeared on "Piers Morgan Tonight" on CNN. During the interview, Morgan stated that Knox had to be smart to get into Duke in the first place, so he didn't see how she wasn't able to anticipate the reaction she's received to her job in porn.

"We're really caught in this catch-22: if I was a girl who was doing porn and I was not going to school, he would've said to me, 'You're doing nothing with your life, you have no future plans,'" Knox said on HuffPost Live Tuesday.

"I'm in school, I'm getting my education, I'm doing things with my life, and I'm getting criticized too," she added. "There's really no way for women to win in this patriarchal society."

Knox found a little more support Monday on "The View," largely from Whoopi Goldberg who declared that she understood what the Duke freshmen meant when she declared her work doing porn was empowering. Although Sherri Shepherd said that comment, combined with Knox revealing she began watching porn at age 12, "breaks her heart."

In response, Knox said on HuffPost Live that Shepherd's comment was "incredibly condescending and completely ignored my sexual autonomy."
