A year ago, the news that an actor with a "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" film credit to his name wanted to enter politics would've been met with equal parts incredulity and disdain.

But given our current political season, i.e., the apocalypse, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson somehow seems more qualified than ever to lead the free world. Just think of all the punny campaign slogans at his gargantuan fingertips!

"I'll be honest, I haven't ruled politics out," he told British GQ in a recent interview. "I'm not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can't deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people's lives on a global scale."

This isn't the first time Johnson has made his political ambitions clear. Earlier this year, the 44-year-old tweeted an article from conservative news website Independent Journal listing all the reasons why he should run for president. As the piece notes, Johnson is a registered Republican, whose qualifications range from his popularity in the wrestling community and ability to manage a busy schedule. A low bar, no?

But there's no need to worry just yet, as Johnson reassured the mag that "there are a lot of other things I want to do first" (like cash in that check for "Fast 8").

In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at what a "Rock" presidency might look like. Warning: ripped shirts and muscles ahead.
