'Eastbound & Down': Kenny's Terrible Present, Big Surprise

Kenny Powers returned for the third season of "Eastbound & Down" (Sun., 10 p.m. EST on HBO) back on top, or at least closer than he's been in a long while. Professionally, that is. He's a big star playing baseball in Myrtle Beach, but while the fans love him, there's one person who's not nearly as impressed.

For his son Toby's first birthday, Kenny does show up but with a PS3 as a gift and one of the most awkward refusals to hold a baby ever captured on film. So it came as a huge surprise to him when April showed up in Myrtle Beach later for an unknown reason. After using his bathroom, she said she was going to go -- so she came all that way to use the restroom? -- but Kenny told her instead she needed to take a night off from being a parent and let loose.

So he took her out. And got her drunk. And got her stoned. And got her high on a whole variety of drugs. They tore it up on a mini-golf course, getting into a fight with a family that wanted to play through, and turned the carnival into their own party central. Back at home, Kenny put on his best moves, saying the right thing at the right time, and sealed the deal. But was it all according to April's plan?

The next morning, he awoke to a note. She wrote, "Sorry. I'm not myself. Last night only proved it. I'll be in touch." It was a melancholy message, but before he could finish processing it, the full meaning became clear. From behind him in the house, Toby started crying. April had taken off and left him a baby he clearly wanted nothing to do with.

Find out how he copes as "Eastbound & Down" continues Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.
