Each fall, we love getting a group together for a homemade caramel apple showdown - er, relaxing session. Try out our recipe this year -- It's super-simple, and will garner some serious compliments from your friends.

Caramel Apples
  • 1 pound caramel candies
  • 7-8 small, crisp, semi-tart apples (i.e. Ginger Gold, Honey Crisp, Granny Smith)
  • toppings for dipping (i.e. walnuts, pecans, peanuts)
  • coarse sea salt
Melt caramel in a double-boiler over low heat, taking caution not to over-heat & burn. While caramel melts, wash and dry apples then set aside.

Prepare bowls of toppings for dipping by crunching up some of your candy faves - We love Heath bars, white & dark chocolate chips, sea salt and almonds.

Holding the apple by its stem, carefully dip into the melted caramel, then quickly roll into your topping of choice!
