How Ebola Went From A Single Case To A Global Emergency

The World Health Organization announced on Wednesday that more than 1,900 people across West Africa have died of Ebola in recent months. The outbreak is the largest since Ebola was discovered in 1976.

The disease has wreaked havoc in countries that reported large numbers of infections, such as Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, paralyzing the countries' economies and social life. The United Nations estimates that it will take more than $600 million to battle the disease.
