Edinson Volquez Calls Out Reds Offense, Gets Sent Down To Minors

Reds Star Pitcher Calls Out Teammates

Cincinnati's Edinson Volquez called out his teammates after giving up seven runs against the Cleveland Indians in just 2 2/3 innings on Sunday.

“Everybody has to step up, start to score some runs," he said, via John Fay on the Reds Blog at Cincinnati.com. "In the last five games, how many runs have we scored? Like 13? That’s not the way we were playing last year. We’re better than that."

Cleveland went on to crush Cincinnati 12-4. Volquez is 3-2 with an ERA of 6.35 so far this season.

The Reds are second in runs scored in the National League behind the St. Louis Cardinals.
