Egg Donor's Heartbreak: Donated Eggs, Now Unable To Conceive (VIDEO)

Leah Campbell joined HuffPost Live Nancy Redd to share her heartbreaking story of infertility after successfully donating eggs to other families.

Campbell donated eggs to two different families, and after initial check-ups suggested she was healthy, she eventually found herself in the hospital repeatedly for surgeries.

"I thought okay, I'm going to be alright, and three or four months later I had to go get surgery again," she said.

Her doctor told her that her window for getting pregnant was closing, and Leah "felt so lost", as she was single but hopeful about having children.

"I knew I'd always wanted to be a mom, but doing it on my own had never been the plan," she said. "All my friends were married and they were having kids, and I felt that none of them could relate to what i was going through."

Her inability to get pregnant through repeated in vitro fertilization processes was devastating.

"Going through those failures on my own really taught me that I may not be as strong as I think I am," she said. "I would have gone to the ends of the earth to get pregnant. It was all that mattered to me. Realistically the only thing that stopped me was that I was $30,000 in debt, and heartbroken, and on my own, and I couldn't do it anymore."
