"We didn't get rid of a military regime to replace it with a fascist theocracy," emphatically states a 12-year-old Egyptian revolutionary.

Explicit. Pragmatic. Solution-oriented. In under three minutes, this young man articulates voids within the recently suspended Egyptian constitution and what is needed for a democratic experience he believes will allow Egypt to thrive. The video, posted on the Causes page of the The Egyptian Democratic Academy, addresses extremism, constitutional politics, social justice & gender equality. The Egyptian youth is concise, respectful, and methodical while explaining his perspective on the sociopolitical climate of his Country.

"For years we've been working through civil society to produce ideas, narratives, leaders & symbols that can effectively counter Islamist extremism. This little boy just managed to summarize it all in a few brief sentences. Welcome to the future," says Maajid Nawaz, co-founder of Quilliam Foundation, founder of Khudi, and author of Radical: My Journey From Islamist Extremism to a Democratic Awakening.

Thought-provoking appeals are contagious. By listening to what this young man has to say and sharing his message, you are effectively contributing to his objective. The more we share, the greater the chance that democratic process can take hold.
