Man Accused Of Armed Robbery At Toys R Us Caught Hiding In Large Box

Police in Maryland say a man held up a toy store at gunpoint before attempting to hide from authorities inside a large box.

Elbert Darell Crump, 45, was arrested Thursday at the Toys R Us in Towson, CBS Baltimore reports. Customers called police from the store when Crump allegedly took out a gun and demanded money.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, according to police. When authorities arrived, a fleeing Crump ran back into the store when he saw officers approaching.

The area around the store was quickly secured, which included closing several stores and area roads. Specialized units, including the Tactical Unit were called to the scene.

At just after 3 p.m., tactical teams made entry into the store and located the suspect hiding in a box. He was taken into custody without incident.

Crump has been charged with armed robbery.
