Electric Zoo Ticketholders Have To Watch This Molly PSA Before Attending

Electric Zoo is taking extra precautions leading up to this year's festival. The three-day EDM mecca in New York City will make attendees watch a short PSA about the dangers of MDMA, molly and ecstasy. Called "The Molly," the PSA was written and directed by "Dexter" creator James Manos, Jr. and Ellie Manos, his 19-year-old daughter, Pollstar reported.

The PSA is part of festival organizer Made Event's Come To Life campaign, which warns EDM fans about drug dangers. Last year two people died due to drug-related events after attending Electric Zoo. As a result, the third day of music was canceled.

Made Event founders Laura De Palma and Mike Bindra said in a statement about this year's PSA: “Our message to concertgoers is simple: The Electric Zoo experience is exceptional and worth being present for. Molly can cause you to not only miss the moment, alienate your friends and have an overall adverse and unpleasant experience … but can also make you sick and can even be fatal. Fans will experience how great it is to ‘Come To Life’ at one of our concerts from lights, sounds and crowds."
