Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) gave her most definitive answer to date about her 2016 plans in an interview with Fortune published Tuesday.

Former FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair sat down with Warren for the interview and asked her directly about her future plans for a potential White House bid:

So are you going to run for President?

No.

In the past, Warren has denied that she's running for president, always speaking in the present tense.

"I am not running for president. You want me to put an exclamation point at the end?" Warren told NPR in December.

Others who've denied plans to run for president have later changed their tune.

Mitt Romney, who ran for president in 2012 and 2008, repeatedly shot down the idea of a third run at the White House. When the New York Times asked him if he'd consider a third run in a January 2014 interview, Romney gave what seemed to be a solid refusal.

“Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no," Romney said.

But last week, Romney told donors he is weighing another run for president, and he's been working to re-assemble his team.
